Electricity is metered to your apartment. Supply is provided via the switchboard located within your apartment. The board is fitted with circuit breakers to each electrical circuit. These may trip out if a fault develops in an electrical appliance.
If a trip should occur, the appliance should be isolated from the power outlet and the circuit breaker turned to the "on" (up) position. Push the reset button on the safety switch.
In the kitchen, above/near the cook top there is also an isolation switch. This isolation switch is for the electric oven and is to be used only when servicing the oven. It enables the technician to turn off the power to the oven without having to access the power point behind the oven.
To turn power on in your apartment (after you have arranged to connect the power in your name), please make sure that all circuit breakers and the main switch are in the on or up position.
If you experience a loss of electricity at any time, please take the following steps in this order:
1. Check circuit breakers at your apartment switchboard and reset if necessary.
2. Check to see if power is on in adjoining properties. If not, contact electricity supplier faults number.
3. If all the above has failed to resolve the problem, contact an Electrician.
Gas:
The charges for gas usage will be included in the body corporate fee.
Gas is supplied to the cook top only. To turn gas on, open the isolation valve located in the cupboard or behind the drawer under the bench, beneath the cook top. To turn gas on/off for day to day use, use the knobs located on the cook top.
To isolate gas to the whole floor level in an emergency, there is a shut off valve located on the back wall of the garbage chute room (rear left hand side of lifts) at each floor level.
Note 1: Cook tops include a flame failure device to ensure gas turns off when flame is extinguished. When lighting, please hold ignition down until flame failure sensor is hot.
Note 2: If the gas supply is shut off, it may take some time to purge the line before the cook top will light.
Water:
Contact Greater Western Water to arrange updating of records and billing of cold water to your apartment.
